Not cutting through?

Ken over at The Road to Surfdom is not altogether thrilled by the new Labor team.
Now that the excitement about the new ALP leadership has settled, I’m waiting to see if the party gives me a good reason to give it my vote this year. So far, the signs aren’t promising.
I think Ken is being just a tad impatient. After all Mr. Rudd only took over on December 4th. Parliament is still in recess and the news media are still on their summer break. The ALP won’t be releasing policies in the summer recess while no-one is looking. They’ll want maximum attention.
Ken wants detailed policies. But these take time to develop. That’s why we aren’t hearing much at the moment and if Mr. Rudd and Ms Gillard are going to crack this next election, they will be busy working on these right now. The next election is probably less that 12 months away, and the ALP need every inch of that runway to launch this rusty old bird into the air. They only get one shot so they need to make it a good one.
